NCM Aspen Electric Fat Tire Bike

$1,799.00

NCM Aspen Electric Fat Tire Bike

The NCM Aspen gets its name from the mountains in Colorado. So, you know, this electric fat tire bike can handle mountain trails and technical ranges. The Aspen is designed for off-road tracks and is one of the most budget-friendly e-bikes with German engineering and quality components built to last.

It is extremely lightweight for an electric fat tire bike and NCM has carefully designed the frame and wheels for this purpose. The seat post sits at 33 inches, which is great for shorter people and can be extended for bigger riders. There are many things that set Aspen on another pedestal compared to other e-bikes at this price point.

Motor

Powering this fat tire bike is a rear hub-driven motor with a peak power of 750 W. The motor is German-made and comes from Das-Kit, which also manufactures some of the other components on this electric mountain bike.

  • The motor gives enough power to reach speeds around 22 mph.
  • The rear-hub position is great for quick response at the wheel during technical climbs.
  • Motor can be controlled by the throttle or pedal assist level.

Terrain Capability

Electric mountain bikes bring more fun to the trail and make challenging trails accessible to riders of all experience levels. The NCM Aspen is easy to ride and has the smallest learning curve for a fat tire bike.

  • Sturdy aluminum frame makes the bike a solid unit and resilient for challenging trails.
  • This bike can handle dirt, mud and boggy terrain easily and the 4” tires unlock your sandy beach destinations or a ride through marshy ground.
  • The steel chain rings add a little weight but are more durable for rockier terrain

The front fork has an 80 mm travel which can handle angled descents and sharp corners. It works great for removing most of the road vibrations and can tackle air time, if you like sticking some landing on your trail run.

Components

Aspen has most of its components built in house. So, you know the components will work more efficiently and the compatibility will make the drivetrain smoother than other e-bikes sourcing components from other companies.

  • Das-Kit rear hub motor is complemented by the Das-Kit LCD display. You can easily toggle assist levels and read vital information like odometer, speed and battery.
  • The Aspen uses Shimano Altus 21 speed gearing. The gear triggers and the derailleur are from Shimano.
  • E-bikes generally need to have better brakes and this NCM bike uses Tektro mechanical disc brakes. They are reliable and stop you in time.

Tiny Details That Make The Experience

NCM electric mountain bikes stand out from other mountain bikes because of their ingenuity and creativity.

The 26” x 4” tires on the Aspen make it a heavy bike to pedal without power, but there are oval cutouts in the rim that compensate for the added weight of using wide tires. The handles are extremely ergonomic for hours and hours of riding and the 48 V 13 Ah battery also supports USB charging and can be removed for charging inside the house.

Is Aspen Good Enough for Trail and road?

The Aspen is a lightweight electric mountain bike and everything about its build speaks of nature and wild riding. If you’re looking for something that can handle light trails and gravel roads, while still providing comfort on snowy roads and marshy parks, this e-bike will not let you down.
