Frequently Asked Questions
What you need to know about your Velotric Discover M
Compare Discover M and Discover 3.
The primary difference comes down to riding feel and efficiency rather than raw power:
- Discover M: Uses a torque-sensing system to give you a natural, intuitive pedal feel. It delivers higher efficiency and seamless power on rolling hills, making it ideal for long-distance rides and varied terrain.
- Discover 3: Uses a cadence-sensing system for direct, effortless assistance. It provides a lighter, casual ride that requires less pedal effort—perfect for relaxed cruising.
How do I adjust the air pressure in the front suspension fork?
Adjusting your air suspension fork requires a suspension-specific high-pressure shock pump (do not use a standard tire pump). Follow these steps:
- Locate the Valve: Find the cap labeled "AIR" on top of the left (brake-side) fork leg.
- Attach the Pump: Unscrew the protective cap and securely thread on your shock pump.
- Check Pressure: Look for the weight-to-PSI chart printed directly on the fork leg sticker. If the sticker is missing, consult your user manual for the recommended pressure range for your body weight.
- Inflate & Seal: Pump to your target PSI, unthread the pump nozzle, and securely screw the "AIR" cap back on.
What are the main benefits of a mid-drive motor?
Mid-drive motors deliver power directly into the bike’s drivetrain rather than the wheels. This offers a more natural pedaling feel, greater battery efficiency, and better overall weight balance—giving you maximum control and range on mixed terrain and steep hills.
How to switch between sensor modes?
Velotric App: When the bike is stationary, you may check and switch via the Velotric App.
Display: Long-press the Mode (M) button. Ensure that the mode has changed by looking at the indicated mode in the display.
When should I switch sensor modes?
The sensor modes in Velotric's SensorSwap™️ are torque and cadence sensors. Torque sensor is an ideal mode for variable-speed cycling because it is intuitive, which makes it helpful for uneven and challenging terrain. Meanwhile, Cadence Sensor is ideally used for longer or more relaxed cycling, making it the preferred mode for urban cycling. They can be used interchangeably, but one is just a smarter choice over the other.
