Frequently Asked Questions
What you need to know about your Velotric Summit 2
How to Inflate the Air Suspension Fork
You will need a suspension-specific air pump.
- Locate the valve labeled "AIR" on the brake-side fork leg.
- Remove the valve cap and attach the pump.
- Inflate the fork according to your body weight. A recommended pressure chart is printed on the fork sticker.
- If the sticker is missing, refer to the user manual, where we list the recommended front fork air pressure values for different rider weight ranges.
How to Adjust the Damping (Rebound Knob)
The rebound knob controls how quickly the fork returns after compression.
"+" = Harder / More stable / Slower rebound
"−" = Softer / More comfortable / Faster rebound
When to Adjust:
Smooth roads / City commuting → Turn "−" for a softer, more comfortable ride.
Rough roads / Gravel / Trails → Turn "−" for better comfort and control.
High-speed riding / Downhill / Heavy loads → Turn "+" for a firmer, more controlled ride.
What is Custom Mode?
Custom Mode is an optional advanced speed setting available on Summit 2.When enabled through the Velotric App, it allows riders—where permitted by local regulations— to unlock the throttle in Class 3 and reach speeds up to 28 mph. Riders can still switch between Class 1 / 2 / 3 / Custom Mode anytime on the display.
Please note that due to state regulations, this option is unavailable in California, but it is supported in all other regions.
Is Summit 2 Easy to assemble?
Velotric electric bikes are quite easy to assemble, which may only take 15-25 minutes.
Is the construction for Summit 2 good? Can I use it for rugged activities?
Velotric practice high-quality construction and they design their bikes based on their purpose. All their electric bikes have ingress protection rating of IPX6. Summit 2 is safe to use during light rain, but it is best to avoid flood or heavy rain. For a more rugged activities, you may want to look for off-road options from Velotric.
How to switch between sensor modes?
Velotric App: When the bike is stationary, you may check and switch via the Velotric App.
Display: Long-press the Mode (M) button. Ensure that the mode has changed by looking at the indicated mode in the display.
When should I switch sensor modes?
The sensor modes in Velotric's SensorSwap™️ are torque and cadence sensors. Torque sensor is an ideal mode for variable-speed cycling because it is intuitive, which makes it helpful for uneven and challenging terrain. Meanwhile, Cadence Sensor is ideally used for longer or more relaxed cycling, making it the preferred mode for urban cycling. They can be used interchangeably, but one is just a smarter choice over the other.
